Teacher Lops Off Part Of Student's Ear

sfgate;" Bangkok,Thailand -- A teacher enforcing school regulations on haircuts snipped one girl's locks to ear's length Thursday but ended up lopping off a chunk of her ear as well, police said. A teacher at Wat Dan Prachakorn school in southern Chumpon province, had been inspecting students after their morning assembly to ensure their hair was regulation length, said police Capt. "He was going to cut the hair of this girl who had a haircut that was against school regulations. Her hair was against her ear, and he just cut without being careful," He did not know how much of 15-year-old young girls earlobe was cut off. But a report on the Kom Chad Luek newspaper Web site quoted plastic surgeon Dr. Wiboon Thongduang as saying that half of the earlobe was severed, and could not be reattached because the girl did not get proper medical attention quickly enough. The father reported the incident to police, but no charges have been filed against the teacher, who along with the victim was to be questioned Friday, Police said."
I can not believe what I read!!! I'll tell you what...If that would of been me I would not of cared if I went to prison or not. I would of cut off both of his ears and cut off his male member too. Just because he hurt my child and he Pissed me Off!!......I can not believe people can be that cruel to a child and not even do nothing about it....SICK

RENTAL HELP

NBC-6;"Can you imagine living and sleeping in your car? It happens more than you might think. Many people struggle financially living paycheck to paycheck, but they also have a difficult time finding affordable housing. Many people struggle financially every month living paycheck to paycheck. Finding affordable housing is a problem that seems to be rising. Housing and Finance Association offer the federal Section 8 (tenant-based) Rental Assistance program. IHFA director says the program is provides a housing choice voucher to qualified renters. "We get funding through HUD to subsidize the rent of low-income families." The household in need pays 30% of income toward rent and the balance is paid by program. 40-50 people come in a week looking for assistance. "Waiting list is growing; a year ago our wait was about 12 months now it's 22 to 24 months, a real need for help." Another program offered under Section 8 is project-based assistance. It works similar to tenant-based, but the subsidy is tied to a specific rental complex. It is unbelievable how many people need help. "We see people living in there cars; young mothers that need a place to go."
I had to post this when I saw it because. Yesterday I was in a counseling office talking to someone about something to do with my-work and, we ended up chatting about housing for some reason don't remember why. But he was telling me that he had tried to get one of their clients on the housing list just here in Pocatello Idaho, and the sign-up list was CLOSED!! Closed that's really stupid!!, he claims that they said it was a waste of everyone's time to even take app. For housing when the list is already looking at, year-2006 before you would even get to the waiting list to be able to get a voucher to get (low-income housing). So why waste peoples time, blew me away to hear this...My boy-friend is on the Fair-Housing Board here in town and I talked with him about this awhile back and he told me then that the had a government cut on housing Vouchers. I believe he said in the figure of 800 less!!! I tell you somebody better Pull their heads out out their butts!! Real soon up their on Capital Hill, and find some more money I don't care what it takes. Or start making these Land-Lords stop jacking up their rent prices-quote- From a rental angency here in town; " we keep our prices higher on our nicer places to keep out the low-lives ( which means poor) And we also can rent a 3-4 Bedroom house to a bunch of collage kids and charge them triple + deposits each and make more money, for us and the owner of the house. She said its nothing personal. Just- that, they are in the field to make money not rent housing only. But that too, the provide a service to the owners of the rentals for a fee!!...Plus the get to pocket the deposits on all the rentals if they don't give it back.......Maybe I should become a slum lord too!! And not a human....Don't thinks so, its not in me to be selfish to that point.

Bush And Kerry Not Invited Dinner

NBC-6;"The potential for a food fight was apparently too high. Neither George Bush or John Kerry will be invited to this year's Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner. Its sponsor, the Archdiocese of New York says campaign issues could detract from the traditionally lighthearted affair. The annual dinner, this year less than two week before the election, will instead have former President Bush and former Democratic New York Governor Hugh Carey speak. Alfred Smith was a Democratic New York governor who died in 1944. He's best remembered for being the first Catholic to run as a major party's presidential candidate. He lost the 1928 race to Herbert Hoover."
Well wonder if the meal was good? Just goes to show you if your going to be babies about every thing no body wants you around, these to men need to grow-up

CONJOINED TWIN COMPLICATIONS

NBC-6; "Doctors say they "had to go into emergency mode" during surgery to separate twins joined at the head when one girl developed an irregular heartbeat and low blood pressure. The lead surgeon says the Baltimore medical team was about three-quarters through the long operation when the one child's condition deteriorated. The twin with the complications died shortly after the operation. Johns Hopkins Children's Center doctors say the other is in critical but stable condition. The lead surgeon says it's too soon to say if the surviving one-year-old German girl has any brain damage. But he says barring any serious complications, the girl will grow up to "lead a normal, independent life."
This is so sad.. Because these little girls and their parents went thru so much to have this done, to get to America to just do it. Now one of the twins died, and the other may have brain-damage from this. I ran the article when they first did the surgey because, I thought this was a good thing in today's medical world. I'm not saying its still not, but I wish it could of turned out better for this poor family...I home we all will remember them in our prays this week and hug our own children. Because we are So...Lucky, because our own never had to go thru this and they are still alive and well with us. This is a mother's pain feeling for another mother......

Careful Your Bookmarker Is A Weapons

NBC-6 ; "A weight may soon be lifted off a Maryland woman charged with carrying a concealed weapon in an airport. It wasn't a gun or a knife. It was a weighted bookmark. Ms. Harrington was flying home from vacation last month when screeners at the Tampa, Florida, airport found her bookmark. It's an eight-and-a-half-inch leather strip with small lead weights at each end. Airport police said it resembled a weighted weapon that could be used to knock people unconscious. So the 52-year-old special education teacher was handcuffed, put into a police car, and charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
This weapon thing has gotten really out of control...What next we will all be made to walk NAKED on to planes and get our personal items on the other end when we land? Well if that ever happens...Bet it would sure jack up their flying-head count...(Party in the sky) Would take on a whole new meaning to....... MILE-HIGH CLUB...hehe ( think I'll take the bus)

Actor Jailed for helping Lobsters

NBC-6; "Edward Furlong tried to free some lobsters and landed in jail instead. Furlong was arrested on a charge of being drunk in public in Florence, Kentucky. He spent about an hour and a-half in jail before he got out. Furlong is accused of trying to take some lobsters out of a tank at a grocery store."
LOL - Come-maybe he just wanted a pet and he thought they were cute..

Court Rules Vomiting Is A Private Matter

sfgate; "Helena, Mont- Even if you're puking, the potty is private, the Montana Supreme Court has ruled. The high court says a police officer went too far when he walked in on a young woman while she was vomiting into the toilet during a loud house party. The 6-1 decision Tuesday said the unconstitutional intrusion into the privy means evidence that Ms. Smith had been drinking illegally, she was only 18 at the time, could not be used to prosecute her. Merely hearing someone vomiting behind a closed door was not sufficient reason for Dillon Police Officer to open the door, the court said. The case arose from a complaint about a loud party at a Dillon apartment in. A party guest allowed officers to enter the apartment. When the Police-officer heard someone vomiting in the bathroom, he opened the bathroom door without knocking or asking permission and found Smith vomiting in the toilet. She was convicted of underage drinking and given a deferred sentence. On appeal, she argued the search of the bathroom was unconstitutional and evidence obtained by the officer could not be used against her. The Supreme Court agreed. Since the apartment owner never objected to the officers' presence, no one at the party could have expected privacy in the "common areas" of the apartment, the court said. But the same is not true for the bathroom, it said."
Hey this young Lady is smart!! Wonder if she ever considered going into Criminal Law? Heck with that, I bet after this case she could charge all her Collage buddies to just go to court for them and probley win too. From the looks of what she did to her own case...You go Girl!!

'Secrets' Santa Claus Perplex

washingtonpost.com; "A former dictator's cocktail preferences and a facetious plot against Santa Claus were classified by the government to prevent public disclosure. Also stamped "secret" for six years was a study concluding that 40 percent of Army chemical warfare masks leaked. These, as well as other examples of classification were cited last week by members of Congress and witnesses at a House subcommittee hearing into the Sept. 11 commission's conclusion that secrecy is undermining efforts to thwart terrorists.
Some classifications were made in error or to save face. The CIA deleted the amount Iraqi agents paid for aluminum tubes from Page 96 of a Senate report on prewar intelligence. The report quoted the CIA as concluding that "their willingness to pay such costs suggests the tubes are intended for a special project of national interest." That price turned out to be not so high. On Page 105 of the same Senate report, the same security reviewers let the CIA's figure -- as much as $17.50 each -- be printed along with other estimates that the Iraqis paid as little as $10 apiece. "There are too many secrets" and maybe too many secret-makers, said Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn.), chairman of the House Government Reform Committee's national security panel. There are 3,978 officials who can stamp a document "top secret," "secret" or "confidential" under multiple sets of complex rules. No one knows how much is classified, he said, and the system "often does not distinguish between the critically important and comically irrelevant." The problem is growing, said J. William Leonard, director of the National Archives' Information Security Oversight Office, which monitors federal practices. Officials decided to classify documents 8 percent more often in 2003 than in 2002. Total classification decisions -- including upgrading or downgrading -- reached 14 million. "The tone is set at the top," Shays said. "This administration believes the less known, the better," added the Connecticut Republican, noting sadly he was speaking of a GOP administration. "I believe the more known, the better." The panels ranking Democrat, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio, noted that former President Bill Clinton directed that in cases of doubt, the lowest or no classification be used. But in 2003, President Bush ordered officials to use the more restrictive level. Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists' project on secrecy, said some classification was designed to conceal illegality or avoid embarrassment, even though that is forbidden.Aftergood cited the "secret" stamp on Army Maj. Gen. Antonio M. Taguba's report of "numerous incidents of sadistic, blatant and wanton criminal abuses" inflicted on Iraqi inmates at the Abu Ghraib prison."

Coffee Talks-thoughts ~
You know the more I read about Bush, I'm beginning to wonder why this was all kept hidden for so long, And why someone is finally finding these lost files and bringing them out? I am at the point after dealing with all the Bull-Crappy from these two guys I'm beginning to wonder if they should just LET...US MOTHERS run this damn counrty....Hell... We multi-task intire countries alone just within our homes, with out families. And to top it off we have one or more wars going on at least every-day, and we bring everyone out still breathing!!!...Well Moms what do you think?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"Collectors of information can never know how it could best be used," have said. "We have to move to a user-driven environment." Leonard, the Archives official, said another obstacle to sharing anti-terrorist data as the Sept. 11 commission envisioned was that federal law divides the authority for writing the rules that govern secrets. The CIA director has authority to protect intelligence sources and methods, the Energy Department has power to write regulations to shield nuclear secrets, the Pentagon has control over classifying NATO data and the National Security Agency can define eavesdropping communications secrets. "All these variations have nuances that impede cooperation," Leonard said. Aftergood, who is fighting in court to declassify the overall budget for intelligence agencies, argued that declassifying that total "could break the logjam" of overclassification. That was also recommended by the Sept. 11 commission. Leonard said a 2000 law created a public interest declassification board to recommend release of secrets in important cases, but the president and Congress never appointed members. For the curious: The CIA classified for 20 years longtime Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet's preference for pisco sours, according to subcommittee staff members citing previously classified documents published by the National Security Archive, a private anti-secrecy institute at George Washington University. And a CIA employee made up a story of a terrorist plot to hijack Santa Claus and inserted it into classified traffic."

If George W. Bush had been president in 1941,

Bush/Views; "If George W. Bush had been president on Dec. 7, 1941, he would have declared war on a country like Spain rather than on Germany and Japan. Despite the fact that it was Japan which had attacked the U.S., Bush would have argued that Spain was the real threat to world security.Bush would have noted that Spain possessed "weapons of mass destruction" and that the Spanish government had tortured, murdered and bombed its citizens. An attack on Spain would have distracted the voters from the damage Bush's policies were doing to the country while showing that he was taking forceful, action against a rogue state. The fact that Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Imperialist Japan were left free to wage war on the rest of the world would have been ignored, thanks to a barrage of publicity about how Bush was a strong, forceful leader who was smoking the terrorists out of their holes in Spain. If you think this is an absurd analogy consider this: It was Saudi Arabia and Pakistan that financed and supported Osama bin Laden, and it was Saudi Arabia which provided 15 of the 19 hijackers, yet Bush has not dealt with those sponsors of terrorism. But then, Bush's father and Dick Cheney have benefited financially from Saudi Arabia, so one must not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. If you still think the analogy with Spain is absurd, consider this: Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, sold war bonds for Hitler, so why would a Bush declare war on Hitler?....(Note): The information on Prescott Bush's dealings with the Nazis was taken from the Introduction (written by Toby Rogers and Nick Mamatas) to the book, "Fortunate Son, George W. Bush and the Making of an American President" by J. H. Hatfield."
Yes I know more slam on the good ole boy Mr. Bush!! Just can't help myself their so funny and do make you think because their is some truth in them...Sure their is read it again!!

The Story Of * Apocalypse Bush! *

Okay... Everyone I know its a long article, but I think you will enjoy reading it if nothing else then for the dry humor I found in it...We all know how grand Bush says he is well this does it in a way that is worth thelaught...Least I thought so...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Apocalypse Bush; "Why Care for the Planet When the End Times are Almost Here? Vote Bush and Hop On the Salvation Train! This is the great thing about rabid fundamentalism. You really just don't have to give a damn. Take the environment. I mean, isn't it just a little pointless to care so damn deeply about the air and the soil and the water and the stupid little disposable animals on this silly spinning ball of expendable rock when the Second Coming is imminent and a blood-soaked fire-breathin' Jesus who looks remarkably like Mel Gibson will return very soon to smite the heathens and the gays and the vegetarians and the Francophiles, and who will rescue all those who worship patriarchy and country music and blue-chip oil portfolios? You're goddamn right it is. Look. This much has become clear. Bush is, more than anything else, an extreme fundamentalist Christian. He is widely regarded as the most openly pious and sanctimonioous president in modern American history. He actually preaches the GOP screed in evangelical churches across America. He panders so slavishly to the anti-choicers and the Bible-thumpers and the homophobes it makes Jerry Falwell swoon and giggle. And Bush actually says, out loud, that God speaks through him, and that God is on our side we bomb the living crap out of Afghanistan and Iraq and that it is the Almighty's wish that we take control of these angry pip-squeak nations and in so doing kill thousands of civilians and tens of thousands of young Iraqi soldiers,as over 1,000 American soldiers are now dead over a makeshift cause that never really existed. God wanted it this way, that's why. Bush has called Jesus his "favorite philosopher." He has claimed that the act of being "born-again" saved him from a long, sad life of vaguely homoerotic frat parties and repetitive binge drinking and going AWOL from the National Guard, all so he could turn his full attention to righteously ruining multiple businesses and then making Texas the most murderous and polluted state in the union. But, you know, why stop there? God, of course, isn't just about the current Iraqi war. Bush understands this. Nor is God just about slamming gays or creating nasty, isolationist foreign policy. God is not merely about setting those gul-dang Muslim heathens straight about who is the supreme big-daddy all-powerful mega-righteous SUV-drivin' American-flag-wavin' God and who is just a dimestore wannabe false idol scruffy Allah. Because above all, God is nothing if not all about putting a quick and fiery stop to all this Earthly nonsense ASAP. He is nothing if not all about the coming apocalypse. And He is nothing if not all about saving those who believe, as Bush does, that he is among the chosen to be saved. This is the fundamentalist truth. And this is the BushCo maxim. The End Times provide the ultimate meaning, the final straw, the only thing worth caring about, because it defines the BushCo worldview like nothing else except maybe embarrassing grammar and crushing deficits and a secret craving for gin. You can see it in his sad, vacant eyes: Bush is absolutely convinced that God is a Republican. Why else would He create all those cool M-1 tanks and oil refineries and those neat deer-antler chandeliers? Exactly. Do you see? Do you get it? If not, you haven't been reading nearly enough of those silly pulpy sociopathic gazillion-selling "Left Behind" doomsday books so frighteningly adored by the Christian Right. It's simple, really: The world is gonna end real soon. The End Times are comin'. All the signs are in place -- famine, war, disease, sodomy, fires, hurricanes, Avril Lavigne -- and Bush, by instigating holy wars and inciting more terrorism and burning through the planet's natural resources as fast as humanly possible, is merely hastening the blessedly inevitable. As his fellow fundamentalists say, God bless him. Hey, it explains a lot, this view. It explain how Bush can just smirk and mumble and, with one big, heartless shrug, dismiss the complete lack of WMD and the loss of 1.6 million U.S. jobs and the nation's staggering $422 billion budget deficit. Pay down the national debt? Bah. Planet's going to hell anyway, people. Stock up on nuclear missiles and get yourself an escape pod. Can't afford one? Whatta shame. It surely explains the general GOP hatred of gay marriage, of open-hearted sex, of those wicked, sin-inducing vaginas (that harlot Eve is gonna pay, dammit), of environmentalism, of caring about air quality and water quality and the EPA and organic foods and homeopathic medicine and resource management and the Alaska Wildlife Refuge and the U.N. and any country that doesn't have a McDonald's and a Starbucks and a decent strip club for lonely gin-soaked Republican expats. And it explains not only the outright contempt for any view other than Bush's own, but the willingness to legislate that hatred, codify it, to make it outright illegal to think or feel or love otherwise. Look at it this way: When you have an angry, patriotic God and the red-hot promise of the juicy apocalypse on your side, there is no such thing as a counter-argument. There is no such thing as competition. There is no such thing as giving a damn what anyone else thinks. How else do you explain it? How else can you understand the most aggressive, war-hungry, abusive, nature-loathing, isolationist administration in American history? How else can you explain BushCo's overall "F" grade from every environmental organization in the world? How can you explain his mauling of long-term Social Security planning? The decimation of the idea of universal health care? A pre-emptive, attack-first-ask-questions-never, warmongering policy that creates more anti-U.S. hatred by the minute? How can you explain the fact that every human rights organization on the planet is appalled by Bush's actions? Guantanamo Bay to Abu Ghraib to John Ashcroft to the Patriot Act to gutting funding for international women's health care. Hey, if God had wanted us to care about other viewpoints, He would've made everyone speak English. Can I get a "hell yeah?" This lust for apocalyptica, then, is perhaps the best way we have to at least partially understand the shamelessness of this administration's policies and its blatant disregard for international law, its open hatred of any nation that disagrees with us and the deep, profound concern only for nations that either cower in our God-flexin' presence and/or have resources that Bush's corporate pals are salivating to exploit. And it is the perhaps ultimate explanation for the Right's final cattle call, its bitter war cry of a message, its exact parallel to every pseudo-religious evangelical scam artist on late-night cable TV. Listen, good people of America. If you just send your money to the party and give up all that careful, nuanced thinking, if you just quite questioning our decisions and load up on blind faith, it will all be OK and you can have all the guns and fast food you want and those terrifying gays will leave you alone because BushCo will take care of you and God will reserve your seat on the glory train to salvation. Deal? Praise Jesus! Praise Bush/Cheney! Hallelujah you are saved! Even as we are, you!!........ know, your-doomed."

Hair could reveal travels

New Scientist;"Tracking the recent whereabouts of suspected criminals or uncovering the true origins of asylum-seeking immigrants might come down to a single hair, says a researcher. Colleagues at the University of Reading are testing a new method of determining where people have lived by measuring the ratios of oxygen and hydrogen isotopes in their tissues or fluids. The isotopes, absorbed into the body from water, have predictable values for different local areas and leave a telltale signature in tissues. Hair is particularly good because it grows about a centimetre a month, So it actually grows a record of not only where you have been but what you have been eating and drinking. Says the technology could assist police investigations and potentially help immigration officials to decide whether people seeking asylum are arriving from appropriate countries. We’re not going to get a postcode. It will only get as far as a regional level, but that may be good enough for some cases. Distinct local patterns The method is based on the ratio of two sets of naturally occurring isotopes, oxygen-16 and oxygen-18, and hydrogen and deuterium. Plants and animals alike absorb a distinct local pattern of isotopes from the water and food they consume. Because each isotope differs in its atomic weight, the ratio of each pair can be easily measured by mass spectroscopy and compared to published local values. Researchers from many areas of science have used these isotopes for years to investigate everything from the source of air pollution to how far butterflies migrate. But this is one of the first applications of the method to living human beings. Reachers are currently conducting trials to figure out how the isotopes migrate from food to tissue samples. They are tracking the dietary habits of volunteers to develop a reference index of human isotope ratios and the places or foods they correspond to. They also want to extend the trials to include officers in the high commission of foreign countries. The technique, however, could fail for several reasons. For example, if test subjects drink large amounts of bottled water, the isotope signature could resemble the water’s foreign source more than their current residence. Frequent travelers would also be hard to pin down. But despite the potential pitfalls of the procedure, it would be a boon to criminal investigation units. It would be a cheap and fairly rapid technique, that’s really important to a police investigation."
I think this would be a really good thing in a lot of ways it would help us on cutting down on a lot of unsolved crimes and would be dangers. But it could also be a bad thing, because it takes away from the private way we all like to live, and we all know that even in tests like this not everything is 100% things could come up wrong. I have heard of people losing -Jobs, freedom and other things because of a DNA-testing and it was read wrong by a lab.

DUI horse-and-buggy

RIGA, Latvia -- Police in eastern Latvia were trying to determine what charges to bring against a drunken horse-and-buggy driver who caused a drunken motorist to crash into a ditch, flipping his car. The accident happened just before midnight Monday near Kraslava, 140 miles east of the Latvian capital, Riga. The driver of the horse-and-buggy made an illegal turn onto a main road when he should have yielded to an oncoming car, said Kraslava police spokeswoman Ingrida Nevedomska. To avoid crashing into the horse-and-buggy, the driver of the car, a Volkswagen Golf, veered into a roadside ditch, flipping his car, Nevedomska said. The driver was not seriously hurt. Police, who did not release the names of the drivers, administered breathalyzer tests and determined they were both legally drunk, Kraslava traffic police chief Uldis Ornicans said The driver of the car was fined $830 and had his license revoked. But police were unsure what to do about the horse-and-buggy driver -- only motor vehicles and bicycles are covered under the country's drunk driving laws. "How do you ticket a guy driving a horse-and-buggy?" Nemedomska said. Ornicans said the man at the reins would probably be charged with having caused an accident but declined to specify what penalties he might face. As for the horse, Nevedomska said, it seemed sober."
Okay? How does the poor horse feel about this? He was made to comment a crime and could of been killed!! Poor animal, but this is a first for me never heard of a drunker buggy-driver in the year 2004'

Dinosaurs doting parents

New Scientist;" A fossil of one adult Psittacosaurus dinosaur surrounded by 34 juveniles has provided the most compelling evidence to date that dinosaurs raised their young after hatching. Previously discovered fossils of teeth found at the same site in China from Allosaurus dinosaurs of differing ages, and fossils of groups of young Maiasaura have hinted that dinosaurs may have indulged in parental care. But what makes this 125-million-year old fossil find from Liaoning province more convincing is that the skeletons are complete, and crowded together in life-like positions with their legs tucked under and heads raised, indicating that they were buried alive rather than swept together after death. Psittacosaurus are herbivorous dinosaurs, about one metre long, with parrot-like beaks and cheek horns. The newly unearthed juveniles are about a quarter of the length of the adult, and far bigger than hatchlings. This suggests that the adult had tended them for some time, says David Varricchio of Montana State University in Bozeman, US, who examined the ancient remains with Jinyuan Liu of the Dalian Natural History Museum, China, and colleagues. “It looks like a creche,” says Chris Daniels, an evolutionary biologist at Adelaide University, Australia. “It would be unlikely that one or two adults could provide food for so many youngsters.” Caring for young in creches is a type of parenting behaviour seen in animals such as Emperor penguins in which a few adults tend chicks from several families, while the parents collect food. Birds and crocodilians, which also invest time and effort raising their offspring, share a common ancestor with dinosaurs, so the new finding suggests that sophisticated parenting is an ancient behaviour that evolved just once in these animals, rather than twice."
I found this to be quite a pleasure to read, why because it goes to show that it don't matter what type of animal you are. You still have a great need as a parent of your off-spring to protect and feed them. Also we really don't know that much about things in our past but what we find thru diggs and research. And the fact that they are always finding new facts makes it worth reading to me. I hope you enjoyed reading it also.

Man Tried To Sell 200-year Old Skull On E-Bay

NBC-6;"A California man has been charged with trying to sell the 200-year-old skull of a Hawaiian native on e-Bay. Jerry David Hasson is accused of violating the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, a federal law that protects archaeological finds. Authorities contend he put the skeletal remains on sale on eBay in February, claiming the warrior died on Maui in the 1790s. On the site, Hasson allegedly claimed he found the skull and other remains on a Hawaiian beach. An undercover agent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs arranged to buy the skull. An anthropologist determined the skull was that of an adult female of Polynesian ancestry who was around 50 when she died. Hasson could face up to five years in prison and a 250-thousand-dollar fine."
Well just goes to tell you, what you can find on E-Bay..LOL This guy must of thought he was a really good con-man, or he smoked way to much of the Tie-stick he bought while he was in Hawaii..What dumb-A$$

Teaching Your Teen to Drive

about.com;"The first time I took Spencer on a higher speed rural road (50 mph speed limit), he panicked when he reached 40 miles per hour. He broke into a cold sweat as he watched objects whizzing beside him on the drivers side of the car. I finally coaxed him into getting up to 50, but it was not without a fair amount of fear from his perspective. He had a similar experience the first time he merged onto a freeway. Learned some pretty good tips for teaching teenagers to safely work behind the wheel. If you are embarking on the process of teaching your first teen to drive, or if you are trying for a first "successful" experience, then there are some things you should know."
My teenager daughter has been bugging me really bad to teach her how to drive or be allowed to take, Drivers-Ed. Well being a single mom, not a lot of money to pay for the latter so I have agreed to teach her myself. Well lets just say its been a really stressful time for me, the thought of my little girl behind the wheel when just a short time ago she was trying to figure out how to just stay on a bike and not fall off. Well would love to hear stories or infro. From others that have done this or been thru this...Thanks

Mr. Nader's Baiting

washingtonpost; " The days when the chief Israeli puppeteer comes to the United States and meets with the puppet in the White House and then proceeds to Capitol Hill, where he meets with hundreds of other puppets, should be replaced." "Bush also repeated the catch-phrase 'committed to the security of Israel as a Jewish state,' which is repeated almost word-for-word again and again by Israel's sycophants and Capitol Hill puppets." Which of the above quotations is lifted from the Web site of the white supremacist National Alliance and which was uttered this summer by independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader? It's a tough one. After all, both play on the age-old anti-Semitic stereotype of powerful Jews dominating politics and manipulating hapless non-Jewish puppets for their own ends. Yet if Mr. Nader is at all disquieted by the company he is keeping by using such metaphors, he sure isn't showing it. In a letter this week to the Anti-Defamation League, which had complained to him about his rhetoric, he responded with breezy indifference and more rhetoric that only compounds concerns. Mr. Nader complains in his letter that the debate in Israel over Israeli policies is far more robust than the American debate over the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In an interview last month on the "Democracy Now!" radio show he explained, "The U.S. government never connects with the deep and broad Israeli peace movement" a claim he elaborates on in the letter. And Mr. Nader has a point. Israel's shriller defenders often cry foul at even the mildest and most constructive criticism of the state. The problem with Mr. Nader's words are not that he criticizes either Israel's policies or American support for those policies. The problem, rather, is the language he deploys in doing so. In the radio interview he called John Kerry a "puppet politician who does not think in the best interests of the American people and the Israeli and Palestinian people." And in his letter he writes, referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel lobbying group, of "AIPAC's ditto machine on Capitol Hill" and the awed members of Congress "who, against their private judgment, resign themselves to sign on the dotted line." This is poisonous stuff. And if Mr. Nader doesn't understand what such words actually mean, the less savory elements of American society certainly know how to read such code. But Mr. Nader, as always, is not backing down: "As for the metaphors -- puppeteer and puppets -- the Romans had a phrase for the obvious -- res ipsa loquitor," which means the thing speaks for itself. Indeed it does.
Quiz answer: The first quotation was Mr. Nader's."
Well after reading this I will say that Ralf Nader, pack a -Mean tongue- and don't care who hits with it. But He also makes a good point of a few things to think about! I feel he knows he's probley not going to make it to the White House!! But I bet, he's sure going to shake-up those who are trying to get in, by putting things out their for the Voters hear, that would other wise never make to our ears. To think and talk-about, before we see who we really want to be the President of the United States of America...You may feel different then me on this but, you can't say that he don't put a question in your mind. On some of the things he throws out their about...BUSH and KERRY both...........Really think about of of the things he says, making me wonder who's real?

MAKER OF ROCK GUITAR STRINGS, DEAD AT 74

NBC-6; "Ernie Ball has died. He was a pioneer maker of rock 'n' roll guitar strings used by legions of artists from the Rolling Stones to Merle Travis. Ball was 74. The mortuary handling services announced that Ball died at his home Thursday after an ongoing illness. His strings and instruments were used by music stars over the past four decades, from B.B. King to Metallica. In 1962, complaints from customers that they couldn't find lighter-gauge, flexible strings for their rock 'n' roll instruments prompted Ball to create and sell sets of strings he called "Slinkys." They were a hit. He later branched out into instruments and accessories. Today, Ernie Ball items are sold in more than five-thousand music stores in the United States and exported to more than 70 countries."
A great pioneer has died, I'm sure he'll be missed. But will always be remembered by the sounds on his strings made, thru people's music as they pluck out their tunes on his great-strings....Hope your tuning those Harps up in Heaven, Ernie!!

WORKERS TO STRIKE ATLANTIC CASINOS

NBC-6; "With the Miss America pageant approaching, workers at some Atlantic City casinos are threating to strike. More than eight-thousand cooks, housekeepers, servers, bartenders and other casino employees at eleven of the resorts 12 casinos have authorized their union to strike if a contract's not reached."
Again another reason the min. Wage person, should stand up and say we won't be your slaves anymore.
YOU!! want us to wait on people to make you money$$.. Then pay for it!!! We know these owner's, Jacked-up! The prices in the casinos because of the pageant, so why shouldn't they give some of it back, to the workers who made it what it is.......

Legislation to protect Siegfried and Roy

NBC-6; "Nevada Senator Harry Reid says his delegation will do everything it can "to protect Siegfried and Roy." Reid is in the middle of a dispute between the Agriculture Department and a video production company that has footage of a tiger mauling entertainer Roy Horn. The department has subpoenaed the producers for the attack footage, as part of an investigation into whether Siegfried and Roy violated animal welfare laws. Reid takes exception to that -- saying he defies anyone to say the Vegas act didn't treat the animals -- quote -- "better than most people treat their children." Feld Entertainment has been refusing to hand over the footage, saying it doesn't want kids to see any gruesome images. The company says it has offered to let investigator see the tape -- but not have it."
I agree that the film should not be open to the public, But I feel as much as the next person. All wild animals are dangureus, even a house-pet can turn on you at the wrong time. So when someone works with a animal in a public setting it is hard to predict if some is going to happen? Because something could happen at the least time expected and for no reason, with any animal. I feel instead of trying to waste a lot of money on this past issue the-agriculture Deptment should focus on how to prevent this from happening again.....

" Internet sex addiction, "

AdultNews;"Like the nose on Pinocchio's face, the pop psychology concept of "Internet sex addiction," keeps on growing. Like the witch-hunt hysteria of centuries past, the insanity is spreading from country to country with the latest batch of illogical conclusions coming from London England, where women were once encourage to "lay back and think of England" while enduring marital sex. Sporting language that would make the Vatican's Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger proud, the increasing openness with which women are admitting that they enjoy sex with addiction. And the Internet, of course, is to blame. "I think the Internet has played a part in the increase, a woman had openly said she wanted sex, it would have raised eyebrows. It is more acceptable now." Well, we can't have that, can we? As usual the definition of "addiction" is staggeringly vague, while simultaneously being compared to increases in physical addictions such as those with drugs and alcohol among women. Additionally, the number used to support this supposed wave of insatiable female sexual hunger is ridiculous. According to the study "Sex Addiction and Women," released by an unspecified firm a whopping one to two percent of women are "addicted" to sex and the Internet. Lock up your sons, folks, Internet harlots are surfing the 'Net in search of no-strings attached sex, naughty pictures, and stories. Well, maybe two-percent of women, anyway -- give or take that traditional three-percent margin of error, of course. Once marketed as an exclusively male "addiction," a fondness for sex and the Internet is now something that women share, with some hooking up for anonymous sexual encounters and hot chats in much the same way people used to do via personal ads and pen pal systems. Somehow researchers are unaware of the bar scene and other more Luddite forms of sexual hook-ups and have declared the number of women using the Internet to meet and greet as "...An unprecedented trend that defies current understanding of the sexual habits of men and women." Maybe some academics need to spend less time in the lab and more time in the real world. According to these so-called experts, women have traditionally under-reported their "sex addiction," whereas men have coped to their bad habit and sought help. Doctors and therapists claim to have treated "dozens of women" ranging in age from 19 to 60 and claim that online erotica is the Internet equivalent of crack cocaine. Unsurprisingly, the people beating the drum of Internet sex addiction are the same people making money off of it by pathologizing what others might consider a healthy sexual appetite or, in the case of women who engage in risky sexual behavior via online contact, a manifestation of a larger problem. But treating the underlying problem doesn't make pop psychologists rich -- blaming technology and encouraging guilt and shame do. For instance, Dr. Cyndi Roller is the author of the Sex Addiction and Women report. She claims that women who are addicted to sex consider themselves to be worthless, unloved, and incapable of having their needs met, and convinced that sex is their chief priority. If this is so, how is the Internet to blame? In fact, how is sex to blame? Certainly there must be a deeper issue to confront than the use of chatrooms for the exchange of saucy fantasies."
If you care to hear my views on this I will tell you women are learning its okay to feel sexy and they can do it in the privacy of their own homes thru the inter-net, and they are having fun doing it. Now I will tell you their is a web-site, I won't say where that I went one time, but they have live cams all the time in people homes so....Okay!! I stayed and peeked..LOL Well lets just say I smoked a pack of cigs.....Watching (blushing)

Men And Their Underwear

washingtonpost; "I found this little tid-bit in the writer area, and couldn't help myself. Sorry guys.. all the talk about pantys lately, and thought all you men you enjoy the last post I did so much I just had to give you this one is was a real fashon statment for fall, for the new-year. It's the writer verson in the mall going shopping in the stores and he stops in this one store - "
Man: I am a lifelong wearer of your products, and I like them just fine, but I got to the mall yesterday, and I saw something very disturbing. They were Jockey underpants. The picture showed a guy, like, shaving or doing something very manly, but he was wearing what appears to be, well, panties.
Lady-clerk: That's the Next to Nothing line of briefs.
Man: My question is, have you ever sold a single one of these items?
Lady-clerk: Oh, yes!
Man: My theory is that you aren't trying to sell them. You have them there to make all your other products look manlier. So, here is my suggestion: Go all the way. Just call them panties. Panties for men. Manties, by Jockey.
Lady-clerk: Ha-ha.
Man: I'm serious. And you should also sell pantyhose for men. Call them Panty-he's. So a guy comes along in the store and sees a display of Manties and Panty-he's, and he's going to buy 12 basic white Jockey boxer shorts, right quick.
Lady-clerk: You know, some men wear pantyhose when they ski.
Man: Omigod."

Well did you like, leave your comment at the door...hehehe!!

Prison Guards Find Basketball Full Of Pot

sfgate;"Okla- Basketballs are usually puffed up with air, but somebody found a way of inflating one with a substance usually associated with puffing of another kind. Oklahoma State Penitentiary officials cut into an exercise-yard basketball and found nearly two pounds of what is believed to be marijuana stuffed inside. Acting on a tip from McAlester police, prison officials searched the yard and found the basketball, which held 30 one-ounce packets of the leafy substance. They seized the basketball from the Talawanda Heights unit, which houses 65 minimum security inmates for the prison and sits away from the main part of the facility. Department of Corrections spokeswoman Linda Morgan said two inmates are on lockdown in connection with the seizure.
Morgan said officials don't know how the basketball got on the prison grounds."
Talk about a air-head!!...Wonder how long this was on the grounds? Now that is what I called prison reform no one smoked it, and to think it still had pot in it.....oh I'm sorry its called : Marijunana

Ex-Wife IDs Bank Robbery Suspect

sfgate;"Ohio -- A suspected bank robber's getaway was abruptly cut short by an unusual witness -- his ex-wife, authorities said. Police accuse Daniel Waggoner, 31, of robbing a bank branch in a Kroger grocery store Tuesday. Police and witnesses said he passed a note demanding money, received cash from tellers and fled. Detective Frank Hensley said Waggoner's ex-wife later saw him driving on state Route 122, and wondered what he was doing in Middletown. "She is on her way to the bank at Kroger and sees his truck -- it's easy to spot. It's black with a chrome smoke stack," Hensley said. When the woman reached the Kroger, she learned that the bank branch was closed because of the robbery. She went to another branch and told the teller that her ex-husband had been in Middletown shortly after the robbery and that he had gotten out of prison a year ago after serving a sentence for bank robbery. "She said he had no business being in Middletown, then she heard about the bank robbery and put it together," Hensley said. The ex-wife identified Waggoner from a photograph taken by the bank surveillance camera, and police took Waggoner into custody."
Sorry, had to print this one. It's got to be the stupid of the day post I feel, come on haven't we always been taught growing up we don't do crap that will get up caught in our own back yards...This guy where's his brains? Maybe he should of first.. Made sure he wouldn't run into his ex-wife, while he was in town at least....LOL

Man Loses License Over 6-Pack A Day

sfgate; "Harrisburg,Pa.- A man who told his doctors that he drinks more than a six-pack of beer per day is now fighting to get his driver's license back because the physicians apparently reported him to the state. Said Tuesday that he disclosed his drinking habit in February to doctors who were treating him at a hospital for an irregular heartbeat. "I told them it was over a six-pack a day. It wasn't good for me. I'm not going to lie," he said in a telephone interview from his home. Emerich received a notice from the Department of Transportation in April that his license was being revoked effective May 6 for medical reasons related to substance abuse. He has petitioned a judge to restore the license, and a hearing has been set. A state law dating to the 1960s requires doctors to report any physical or mental impairments that could compromise a patient's ability to drive safely, any statistics on its reasons for doing so, report motorists with medical conditions that could affect their driving, according to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. The other states are California, Delaware, Oregon, Nevada, and New Jersey.
Okay -Now wait a minute...I thought anything you tell your Doctor was between you and him!...Right? Kind of like the Confession-thing. Well guess not!! Sure won't be telling mine no more juicy gossip anymore...Heck with that!!

Dropped Cig Blows Up Portable Potty

sfgate;"W.Va. - Warning: smoking in the toilet can be dangerous. A portable toilet exploded Tuesday after a man who was inside it lit a cigarette. Emergency workers said the man was not severely injured and drove himself to Clay-Battelle Community Health Center. He was later transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital. His name and condition were not available Wednesday. The explosion, which occurred in Blacksville, resulted from a buildup of methane gas inside the portable toilet. The methane did not "take too kindly" to the lit cigarette, said a spokeswoman for Monongalia Emergency Medical Services."
Well...... Guess this takes a whole new meaning to [going to the john for a smoke break]..lol

Promise American you will not reinstate the Draft

Found this letter when wandering around on the web and thought I would put it out their for a few to comment on. And see what kind of talk, I can start-up with it... Read on:
Dear Mr.Bush And John Kerry;
Neither of you have put forward an exit strategy for U.S. troops in Iraq or Afghanistan. This open-ended troop deployment, along with the other military commitments of the United States throughout the world, has stretched U.S. forces thin. In order to meet these commitments many soldiers have not been allowed to leave the service at the end of their enlistment (a form of a Draft), thousands of troops are being shifted from South Korea to ease pressure elsewhere, the U.S. is calling up more and more reserves and most recently the Army announced it would call back soldiers who had already left the service.

The House of Representatives voted in May to permanently add 30,000 Army soldiers over the next three years; the Senate voted in June for an additional 20,000 in fiscal 2005. But it is going to be difficult to recruit troops now that young Americans have seen what is going on in Iraq and why this country was plunged into this war of choice in the first place. Indeed, polls show more and more Americans do not support the war and want U.S. troops to come home. The Pentagon's reliance on reservists and National Guard members has grown substantially. The National Guard is being turned into an International Guard. Already the National Guard and reserves make up about 40 percent of our troops in Iraq. Our troops are spread thin even with the expensive outsourcing to corporations of many military functions. As Rep. Charles Rangel of New York, the lead sponsor of a bill to reinstate the draft in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently told The International Herald Tribune "ultimately we will run out of bodies."

Where are the soldiers for your military policies going to come from? As a result of these factors there is increased discussion of the return of the military Draft by elected officials in Congress and commentators. I am writing to you today to urge you to publicly proclaim that you will not support a return of the Draft. An unambiguous clear promise on this matter is needed to put this issue to rest.

Sincerely,

Ralph Nader"

WOMAN TEST-DRIVING CAR FINDS PYTHON UNDER THE HOOD

NBC-6 ; "Potsdam,N.Y- A woman taking a used car out for a test drive found a little some extra under the hood. A big snake. When Margaret Brusso took a 1999 Honda Accord out for a ride, she noticed the car's hood was ajar. She decided to take a look at the engine. That's when she came eye-to-eye with the snake. Brusso let out a scream. A neighbor came over with a pail to help out, then decided the snake was too big for him to handle. A sheriff's deputy with experience handling snakes was dispatched to the scene and corralled the ball python. The snake had escaped from its tank earlier this summer. It has since been returned to its owner. "
Lord-Lord I hate Snakes!!!....Hey....Rathwel...you live up their did you lose something?

SOLDIER WHO LOST ARM WINS APPEAL TO REJOIN ARMY

NBC-6; "Fayetteville, N.C.- Chuck Bartles lost his arm , but not his stripes. Sergeant Bartles is being allowed to rejoin the military. The Army reservist lost most of his right arm in an Iraqi roadside bombing attack. He's with the 418th Civil Affairs Battalion based in Belton, Missouri. Military officials say he's the first amputee to re-up since at least the Vietnam War. Lieutenant Colonel James Suriano, the commander of the 418th, says Bartles' "soldierly qualities" helped him win his appeal to stay in the service. Bartles was awarded a Bronze Star before his re-enlistment ceremony in Fayetteville, North Carolina, this week."
Now this is a man that will let nothing stop him from what he believes in, maybe we should all take a few lessons from him. I stand up and [clap-my hands] to a man that was hurt and could of said he did his part and come home, but he didn't.... I saluted you sir.

George Bush Jr.'s in covert operation/ While John Kerry in Vietnam

Views:"What was he really up to in this tropical wonderland? Some of the non-believers are also asking questions about George Bush Jr.'s attendance record with the Texas National Guard. There is a rumor going around the coffee shop that I hang out at that the president was not absent at all! But involved in covert operation, flying jets over North Vietnam, and personally shot down three Chinese M-16 fighters himself! The reason this information is withheld from the public is because of national security reasons. It must be kept secret. Only people in high positions of government are aware of this, and are sworn to a oath of secrecy. Some of the more patriotic and religious folks that hang out at our cafe seem to agree with this story, and say it is possible! How can you disagree with this kind of vision?
Mike Vestal, Minesweeper 491 Operation Market Time MSO Vietnam, 1968-69"
This gentlemen is one of the old-timer that hangs-out in one of the local coffee shops, in town where I live. Thought it was cute and hope it gives you a smile too

Men In Thongs Arrested At Wal-Mart

sfgate;"SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- Two men who were arrested for walking through a Wal-Mart while wearing women's thong underwear blamed the stunt on a "triple-dog dare," authorities said. The men, ages 35 and 36, bought two pair of underwear at the store Tuesday, went into a bathroom and came out wearing only the thongs and T-shirts, police said. Witnesses said the men walked through the store and out to their car. Police caught the men in the parking lot, and reviewed a surveillance tape before arresting them for public indecency and disorderly conduct. When asked why they were wearing thong underwear, one of the men said a friend "triple-dog dared" them... They will not be prosecuted, authorities said."

EVE's- View on Womens-Pantie's

commondreams;I want to send a BIG-thank-you out to: Lietta-(wonderwander) Here's what she said.."Here is another article on the Panty-Women. I'm not going to use it at any of my blogs (er blush, but amused). I was remembering the post at your blog on same subject, thought you'd be interested to read this article.... Did my part for progressive politics in this election by taking off my clothes. So did over 100 other women when we gathered in Battery Park. This protest wasn't just a clever excuse to undress and shock easily offended Republican delegates; it was a symbolic call to the Bush administration to end its political cover-ups and a call to all women to get out and mobilize for the election. It also taught a valuable lesson to people looking to get attention for their pet issue - print it on a pair of panties. Protesters, member of the Axis of Eve coalition, dance during a 'MASS FLASH of protest panties' in front of Golden Sphere Sculpture in Battery Park. The Axis of Eve was thought up by Tasha and Zazel Eve, two women fed up with George W. Bush's lies and his anti-woman legislation. Bush's "Axis of Evil" State of the Union provided the name, and their desire to bring humor and fun to their activism led them to create and sell, at www.axisofeve.org, the protest panties that are now being flashed across America's, protest gathered women clad in outfits ranging from American flag skirts, olive drab Axis of Eve tank tops and pink boy-short panties, feather boas, fishnets, and the occasional pasty to march, dance, and shout "Bush out of my bush!" Despite calls from the organizers to avoid nudity, some zealous protesters stripped down to the bare minimum and posed for photos. As some women started playing with a volleyball covered by a Bush mask, I had to wonder how the spectacle I'd just participated in was going to tip the election for John Kerry. Organizer Apple Eve told me that this event was just a small part of "Operation Naked Democracy." Up until now, Axis of Eve has been seen as one in a growing number of street theater-based protest groups. While it may not have the numbers of Billionaires for Bush or the surreal punch of Tuesday's anarchist Man in Black Bloc Johnny Cash tribute, the Eves have a detailed "Eve-olutionary" agenda designed to gain attention and boost turnout. They even have a recruitment plan - pantyware parties, and they're coming to a town near you. Turning the Tupperware party concept on its head, pantyware parties offer a strategy to get out the vote on Nov. 2 and create a forum for women to talk about politics while "oohing" and "aahing" over magenta thongs and tank tops printed with "weapon of mass seduction." Apple Eve told me there have been pantyware parties in nearly all swing states, but her list had one glaring omission - Wisconsin. Of course there is still time between now and November for a little more naked democracy."
Well Girls, You heard her!! IT's okay to flash those pantys, as long as your doing it for the President..hehe!

MAN SHOT BY PUPPY

NBC-6;"a man in Pensacola, Florida, who was trying to shoot seven puppies was shot by one of the dogs. The man was holding two of the shepherd-mix puppies when one of them wiggled and put its paw on the trigger of the man's .38-caliber revolver, making it discharge. Escambia County deputies say 37-year-old Jerry Bradford was shot in the wrist and was treated at an undisclosed hospital. To top it off, the sheriff's office issued an arrest warrant charging Bradford with felony animal cruelty. He says he was shooting the 3-month-old pups because he couldn't find another home for them. Three of the puppies were found in a shallow grave behind his house, the other seven were taken by animal control, which intends for them to be adopted."
This is Sick!! This man, I don't care how bad it was for him don't give anyone the right to just take a life of animal, just because it was born. What was wrong with him why didn't he have his female fixed if he didn't want puppy's.

Grand Theft Of My Mother-In-Law

sfgate;"New Zealand - A thief who raced off from a service station with a car, and the driver's mother-in-law crashed a short time later and left the woman in the vehicle, police said. "We don't know at this stage if the guy jumped in the car knowing she's in there or if he jumped in there and got a bit of a surprise," The vehicle's owner was filling the fuel tank when the thief leaped in and drove off with the man's mother-in-law in the car. The car crashed 40 minutes later,(18 miles) away. "The offender decamped from there and left the mother-in-law in the car," Police said. "I don't think she's seriously injured."
Okay how many of you guys will yell- HEY!!.. if someone takes your mother-in-law?

Human ancestors quickly found their feet

New Scientist;"Hominids started walking on two legs six million years ago, shortly after diverging from chimpanzees, according to a study of the inner structure of a fossilised thighbone. The finding puts upright posture at the base of the human family tree. The evolution of upright posture is a key issue in anthropology. Together with large brain size, it marks the dividing line between humans and the great apes. Researchers know that upright posture evolved first because the skeleton of famed Australopithecine, Lucy, has a small braincase but modern ankles. Yet with few known fossils older than about four million years, the details of how and when upright posture evolved have been hazy. Over the past few years, however, two important new finds have begun to fill in the gaps. The older animal is Sahelanthropus tchadensis, which lived in Chad six to seven million years ago, but only its hominid cranium was found. More complete is the chimpanzee-sized Orrorin tugenensis, as 20 fossils from at least five individuals have been found in Kenya. These are about six million years old. In knuckle-walking chimps, the cortex is the same thickness on the top and bottom of the bone. However, bipedal, upright walking applies different forces, which means the cortex in humans is at least four times thicker on the bottom part of the bone. Senut found that the lower part of the thighbone in Orrorin is three times thicker than the upper - making its walking habits much closer to humans than chimps."
What is this Orrorin? Well I went looking and this is what I came up with:
Orrorin was a human ancestor adapted to both bipedality and tree climbing, and that the australopithecines are an extinct offshoot.-read more on this article go to:Orrorin;"
>>>To tell you the truth don't know if I know much more then I did before I read it, If I read it right we are still a off-spring of some kind of Monkey...LOL sorry guys I like this stuff don't always say I understand it..

Man Jailed & $ 2000 Fine

NBC-6;" Idaho Falls Idaho-Due to his family's pet.Two witnesses say they saw a little girl walking her dog on a leash, when two miniature pinchers ran across the street from their house. Witnesses say the dogs began to fight and that the girl was dragged out into the road. Witnesses say they ran to help the girl and got the dogs to go home. The witnesses say the owner of the dogs, stood in his yard and watched the whole incident. According to the father, his son did go out and see if the girl was okay, and took his dog's home. The girl was then taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated for her injuries. He was cited for having a dog at large. Received a $2,000 dollar fine and is currently serving 10 days in jail. "The dogs saw each other; went over to investigate, and by the time my son had gotten out moments later, the Shepherd had pulled the girl to the street. She had abrasions, so my son went over; helped her up and asked if she was okay; she said yes I'm alright. But she said-"He never left his yard; I saw him when I got half way down the street. I saw him standing there. He never came to the street; he never even touched the girl or asked if she was okay anything."
This seems to always be a problem in most towns, my children come home at least once week and tell me about some dog that scared them on their way home from school. More needs to be done about things like this next time it could be worst for some other little child.

Hey!! Panties-Flashed At Republican Convention

The Times;" The Republican convention lunged to climax as President George W. Bush. Then, as the delegates cheered, 150,000 red, white and blue balloons dropped from the rafters of Madison Square Garden to the convention floor, where they were arrested by New York police officers for falling without a permit. This is a good time to reflect on the differing policies presented by the two parties, and consider the implications of these differences for the nation and the world. But instead I want to tell you about the. The Panty Flash was a demonstration Wednesday evening in Battery Park by 100 women belonging to an anti-Bush group called "Axis of Eve." They'd announced that they were going to flash their panties to make an important point that did not seem, from the announcement, all that clear. Nevertheless, the Panty Flash drew several hundred media people, which is WAY more than you're going to see for, say, global warming. This media crowd -- which, you will be surprised to learn, was overwhelmingly male -- formed a semi-circle around the protesters, keeping a respectful distance and behaving with the decorum and almost reverent solemnity of guys who know that, if they don't mess it up, women will show them their panties. Also on hand were some Wall Street workers who had paused on their way home to be part of this important protest. I stood near two suit-wearing guys who were inching their way forward to the front of the crowd when one of them grabbed the other's arm and said, "Jesus, there's a camera straight across." The two of them quickly melted back into the crowd, apparently not wishing for their spouses to see them on the evening news. ("Working late, Frank? IS THAT WHAT YOU CALL WORKING LATE??") Finally, after much respectful media anticipation, the protesters began chanting a chant that I cannot repeat in the newspaper except to say that it utilized wordplay involving the president's last name. Then a spokesperson read a statement, which I couldn't hear, although her tone sounded very sincere. Then the protesters flashed their panties, and chanted "THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!" The press corps, performing its vital First Amendment role of keeping you, the public, informed on the issues, took 174 billion closeup photographs of the various panties. Then the protesters chanted several more chants, the most printable being "THE PANTY LINE'S BEEN DRAWN; WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?" I know what you're thinking: These things have gotten completely out of hand. They're silly, vulgar, tasteless, pointless exercises in self-indulgence. I could not agree with you more. We're talking about the conventions, right?"
This made me chuckle, its amusing what a women can get if she just shows a little skin....

HUD Rolling Back Cuts in Rent Aid

washingtonpost.com;"The government is restoring millions of dollars that were to be cut in the program that helps poor families pay the rent. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is putting back about $156 million after reviewing public housing authorities' appeals of a decision in the spring restraining spending on Section 8 voucher financing. The money will be distributed to 379 of the 398 housing authorities that appealed.
The voucher program helps nearly 2 million families through about 2,500 local agencies. Director of the Council for Large Public Housing Agencies, said that the action resolved months of uncertainty. "Old and disabled people had the scare of their lives wondering if they would be evicted," she said. The $13 billion program was changed when President Bush signed the current budget into law in January. The department said it would reimburse housing authorities for vouchers based on Aug. 1 costs, plus an inflation adjustment. Critics have said the department's reading of the budget is incorrect and the government should update voucher costs every three months to reflect the cost of living."
This is a very important progam for a lot of people, especially the Disabled and Older people. Because without it a lot of people could just make ends meet, I know people who who are on the waiting list now for this progam and the they have been told just alone where I live that, they have to go on a waiting list that only after 2-years, they go on another list. Now this waiting list is where you name stays depending on if you keep up without he paper-work they send you and it don't get lost in the mail saying-when and if you'll get a voucher depending when someone else goes off the progam or they give more.- The sad part about this progam is that their is not enough of these vouchers as they call them, to go around. I'm sure a large part of them end up being ear-marked, for the bigger cites -On the East and West Coast, where as I feel only a small few ever make it in to the rest of the states. Personal I feel they should do a few things different with this progam. What you may ask? Well For starters- I understand more people live in the bigger cities..But what about the rest that live in smaller states also, they also have proverty problems as well as the next person. I think they should give the same amount to each state-regardless if they need more. And if they feel this is not the answer then they should allow more vouchers, but still give the same amount regardless how short that will make the government. Or Do!! Something about the high cost of living, because everytime they give a pay increase! Its a waste because then people just raise the prices on everything and it did no good to do anything. Because then we are just back in the same boat again. Personally I feel if they did something like this it could maybe balance abit more: raising the pay-wages for people by double, if not more, and put a freeze on the cost of living and freeze business- Landlords-Ult.companys-Ect. Any thing that usually get raised when they do a wage thru out the states. And hold it at this for at least 3-5 years to get people more willing to, get back on their feet. I feel this alone would fix our welfare and poverty problems. Then at the end of this time. Give another raise in wages to go with the all the things that will sky rocket, at the end of the freeze and only allow these place to raise to the small point that it don't put people back in the places we all are now. I know you all may think I am crazy, but heck think about it everyone but the rich man would profit from this!!!

Citizen Diddy

washingtonpost.com;"The man who is the very richest undecided voter in Madison Square is slumped in a chair in a swanky private lounge for very special Republicans. He has a tattoo on his neck and huge diamonds in his ears, a Yankees cap on his head. He has his cell phone in one hand and his blackberry in the other, tabbing back and forth between the two. The waiters and security guards recognize him. The other guests in the suite, men in perfectly cut suits and women with lacquered hair and pricey shoes, do not. In a while, Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie himself is going to come along and put an arm around this man, and escort him onto the convention floor, where the two will stop and chat, creating a mob scene of the curious. The Texas delegates, in their Lone Star shirts and 10-gallon hats, will stop their Dubya cheers and turn to gape. Can call me P. Diddy." Now Mr. Diddy, multimillionaire mogul, rapper, clothing designer, restaurateur and father of three, has decided to extend his brand of street chic. He has become a political activist, taking $250,000 of his own money to found a new organization called Citizen Change. He boasts he will drive up voting among the 45 million hip-hop young, who are, he says, "disenfranchised and so, so, so [angry] at being on the sidelines." He has a shocking slogan -- "Vote or Die" -- plastered on 70,000 T-shirts now selling for $30 at stores from Macy's to J.C. Penney. In the promotional materials."I wanted something dramatic, that would strike up controversy," says Diddy. When the president is running your country, he is running you. The way he sees it, the hip-hoppers already are wearing his clothes and buying his records and letting him tell them what's cool. They'll listen up when he tells them to register and get to the polls. He sees himself as the third rail of American politics. "I'm their worst nightmare," Diddy declares, referring to the two political parties. "I'm closer than Kerry or Bush to these 45 million votes." But Diddy doesn't want anyone to think he's a Republican or a Democrat. He went to the Democratic convention in Boston. Now he is here with his latest marketing scheme. "I'm going at it hard," he says.Because Diddy is a smart mogul, says Brown, "can you mention possible mayoral candidate in 2006" in Washington? Because he is Diddy, he moves with a ponderous entourage. A couple of delegates stand on their tiptoes to figure out what's going on. "Who's the guy in the green tie?" one man asks. "I think it's the governor of Colorado," a second responds. "Yeah, that's definitely who it is." Who's the other guy, the first man asks. No idea, says the second. "That's P. Diddy," says a woman from Louisiana. "Don't you know P. Diddy?" "Huh," says the first man. "What's he doing diddlin' around here?"
I found this to be one of the biggest jokes I have read so far in this, election so far. I think what I am trying to figure out is?..Who is using who..LOL

Judge Orders Demonstrators Freed

washingtonpost.com;"NewYork- A criminal court judge ordered the release of hundreds of Bush protesters ruling that police held them illegally without charges for more than 40 hours. As the protesters began trickling out of jail, they spoke of being held without access to lawyers, initially in a holding cell that had oil and grease spread across the floor. Several dozen of those detained said that they had not taken part in protests. Police apparently swept up the CEO of a puppet theater as he and a friend walked out of the subway to celebrate his birthday. Two middle-age women who had been shopping at the Gap were handcuffed, and a young woman was arrested as she returned from her job at a New York publishing house. Criminal Court Judge John Cataldo held city officials in contempt of court for failing to release more than 500 detained demonstrators. The judge said that the detentions violated state law, and he threatened to impose a fine of $1,000 per day for each person kept in custody longer than 24 hours without being arraigned. As of Thursday evening, about 168 people still in detention had been held for more than 24 hours. Dirty and tired, and with matted hair, many fell into the arms of those who waited. But others, who had been handcuffed and said they had not been given medicines for asthma and epilepsy, sat on blankets in a park across the street and sought attention from medics."I was held for 44 hours without being able to call my family or talk to a lawyer,"one of 14 college students who was arrested while standing with antiwar picket signs at 34th Street and Sixth Avenue. "We were taken to a big metal cage, and the ground was covered with a black, cakey motor oil. We were given one apple each after nine hours." In all, police arrested more than 1,700 people, or nearly three times as many as were arrested in Democratic National Convention, which had far more violence. Police have used large orange nets and riot and motorbike squads to sweep up dozens of alleged protesters. Michael Sladek, who owns a film production company in Brooklyn, was arrested in Midtown two evenings ago as he photographed the police and demonstrators. He spent 48 hours in custody without access to a phone."For us, it was very clear this was a detention to keep people off the street," "And the saddest thing was that so many people had nothing to with protesting the convention." Those coming out of the jail in southern Manhattan said that police never advised them of their right to talk to an attorney. And several people, independent of one another, said police told them that if they signed a document admitting guilt and waiving the right to sue for false arrest, they would be released early. Detainees said that after being arrested, they were crowded into makeshift holding cells at a bus cleaning station on the Hudson River piers, where many spent the night awaiting transfer to jail. In some cells, they said, teenage girls and women were kept overnight amid dozens of men. Many protesters spoke of seeing signs at the piers warning of hazardous chemicals. Once in the city jail, detainees said, they were shifted among as many as 10 cells in 48 hours without explanation, unable to sleep. Medics said the Department of Health had asked them to gather samples of the detainees' clothing to test for exposure to toxic chemicals from the holding cell. Medics found numerous cases of rashes and skin infections, apparently as a result of cuts from overly tight handcuffs that were exposed to chemicals."
This had to be really frightening for anyone walking down the streets in NewYork. No wonder people packed-up and left town for a week, I think the worst part of reading this was alot of the people were just going on with their everyday life, and got thrown in jail! Because they were walking in the wrong place at the wrong time, and not thinking much of it till it was to late!!

Kerry Takes Off Gloves

washingtonpost.com;"Ohio, -John F. Kerry lashed back at his Republican critics, denouncing the GOP convention for its "anger and distortions" and belittling Vice President Cheney for avoiding the military draft during the Vietnam War era. In his sharpest and most personal remarks yet, called Bush "unfit" to lead, saying he misled the country on the Iraq war and citing his failed record on jobs, health care and energy costs. "I'm not going to have my commitment to defend this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they could have and by those who have misled the nation into Iraq," Kerry thundered. More than 15,000 people attended the rally in front of a historic city building here. "I'm going to leave it up to the voters whether five deferments makes someone more qualified than two tours of duty," Kerry said. Cheney received a series of deferments from 1962 to 1966 for college and graduate school and then for having a child. "Let me tell you what I think makes someone unfit for duty," Kerry said. "Misleading our nation into war in Iraq makes you unfit to lead this nation. Doing nothing while this nation loses millions of jobs makes you unfit to lead this nation. Letting 45 million Americans go without health care makes you unfit to lead this nation. Letting the Saudi royal family control our energy costs makes you unfit to lead this nation. Handing out billions [in] government contracts without a bid to Halliburton while you're still on their payroll makes you unfit." "We're going to be very aggressive throughout the fall in painting the real picture of George Bush. We are going to remind voters of what George Bush said in 2000 and what he did." An ad that will run in Pennsylvania, for example, will say that Bush promised health care for seniors four years ago but that now millions remain without health insurance and drug prices are soaring. "It's time for a president who understands that a stronger America begins at home. It's time to stop rewarding companies for shipping jobs overseas. To get health care costs under control. And to end America's dependence on Middle East oil." America's heartland, but it's been hit hard. In the past four years, Ohio has lost 230,000 jobs. President Bush insists the economy is just fine. We know America can do better." "He's picked the side of the trial lawyer over doctors and patients," One ticks off Bush's agenda: "Lower health care costs. Allow small businesses to band together to get insurance rates big companies get. Tax-free health savings accounts [that] families own. Stop junk lawsuits against doctors and hospitals. . . . Every eligible child with health coverage." In another, the president touts "a fairer, simpler tax code" and promises to "strengthen Social Security." Kerry has run mainly positive spots for six months in the face of relentless negative advertising by Bush."
Okay Now we know what Bush promised, and we still are waiting to see...Sure it's 60-days from election-time and all of a sudden hes rushing to put things in place before November. If he felt these things he promised us was so important to promise them to us then he should of done all these things. Within the first 2-years of office, I feel. Rushing to put them in place like the Medicare progam and all of a sudden a push for, school-children & health-care for them. Is like, getting a cheesy throw together package deal from A. Used-Car-Salesmen...Makes me worried is this the best deal I can get?
And again I keep waiting to hear more on what Kerry is going to do for us. Beside tell us that he is going to do everything Bush-say.. But-BETTER ?

Searching for the Naked Women Protesters?

The Times-News;";"NewYork -- I'm not 100 percent certain the Republican convention is truly here. I say this because although the sidewalks are bustling with humanity, none of these humans look like Republican convention delegates, unless the Republicans are suddenly into nose piercings.I'm wondering if this is a clever ruse wherein the Republicans told everybody they were coming to New York to lure the protesters and media here, while the GOP holds its real convention at a more traditionally Republican locale, such as Bermuda. If so, it's working: There are plenty of protesters here, and apparently some of them are naked. I've been unable to visually confirm this, although you may rest assured I'm trying. For example, I heard a report that some women had gotten naked in Central Park to protest the Bush administration's health-care policies. So, as a journalist deeply interested in health care, I took a taxi to Central Park, where I encountered two New York City police officers, and we had this conversation, which I am not making up:
ME: Is this the way to the naked women protesters?
FIRST POLICE OFFICER: I hope so.
SECOND POLICE OFFICER: We'll follow you.

Bush Verses Kerry Who Would You Choose?

Pocatello Journal;" President Bush - had it right the first time when he told an interviewer this week he didn't think the U.S. can win a war on terror. The Republican wordsmiths rushed to repair the damage, explaining that the president was simply pointing out the unconventional nature of the conflict, and was not retreating in the face of terrorist actions. Here's what Bush said when he was asked on television, whether America could win its war on terror. "He was talking about winning it in the conventional sense ... About how this is a different kind of war and we face an unconventional enemy," McClellan. It is a mistake to take Bush's comment out of context. In the same interview, he said "You cannot show weakness in this world today because the enemy will exploit that weakness. It will embolden them and make the world a more dangerous place." The president's comments were an acknowledgment that his earlier prediction of a quick victory was a hallucination.

I decided to run an article on Both these two Men. Just sit on the fence, see where it takes me? Because I don't know if I like my options anymore. Let me know what you think on both these articles, in the comment box -Thanks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John Kerry said - I will only reveal my policy plan after I am elected! -Why does John Kerry point out everything that he sees wrong with President Bush's policy, but in turn won't offer any solutions of his own? Why - Have France and Germany's support to go into Iraq? Were there WMDs and Al-Qaida in Iraq before the war? Rumore have it, that Saddam was paying both France and Germany off under the table with illegal oil deals. He said: "Check my Record." Voted - To kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M-1 Abrams tank, every aircraft carrier laid down. The Aegis anti aircraft system. The B-1, the B-2, the Patriot anti-missile system, the FA-18, and the F117. To kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons system since 1988, including a bill for battle armor for our troops. To kill all anti-terrorism activities of each and every agency of the U.S. government. To cut the funding of the FBI by 60 percent, the CIA by 80 percent, and the NSA by 80 percent, to increase our funding for UN operations by 800 percent.

I say: To both of these men fighting for my Vote, come November. DO YOU!! - Truly want to support the troops? (Our American People) - then, bring them home safely now! Get them out of the Middle East quicksand-war that, you have sent them to die in...Now!! Not after we.. Vote you in to OFFICE!!

Garage Strip Clubs Thriving

washingtonpost.com;"The sign outside the, garage-advertises a carwash and banquet hall. The proprietor, at least according to County records, is Grandma's Catering. Yet in the year since it opened, no car has been scrubbed and no meal has been cooked, the owner acknowledges. The place doesn't even have a kitchen. And "Grandma"? A- 41 Man, promoter of adult entertainment who drives a Mercedes-Benz and lives in a sprawling Capitol Heights home. Every night, he draws a crowd of patrons who pay $20 to watch dancers on a stage where customers drink beer and whiskey and watch dancers swing on a pole. A strobe light flickered inside an unmarked brick building, Female Dancers Tonight" read the sign at the entrance, where a small crowd gathered. The man at the front door said admission was $20 for nonmembers and described a VIP room/private dances. Owners often obtain permits to open banquet halls, auditoriums or entertainment centers without revealing to the county that they plan to include nude dancing. homeowners complain about late-night traffic and booming music. "I keep my windows closed now," says a mother, who works as a loan officer with three children lives across from the club. That type of element is an accident waiting to happen."
